Welcome to the MICHIGAN chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the world’s largest organization of teachers of singing. Organized in 1944, NATS has over 7,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, and twenty-five countries around the globe.

Our Michigan chapter has over 150 members and is part of the Great Lakes region of NATS. Membership has many advantages including the ability to enter students in our annual state auditions, regional auditions, discounted registration fees to NATS National conferences and workshops. The NATS biennial conference brings together voice teachers, vocologists, voice specialists, coaches, singers and students for workshops, master classes and sessions on all aspects of the voice.

Additionally, all NATS members receive The Journal of Singing, a peer reviewed, scholarly publication with articles of interest for teachers, singers and pedagogues written by leading voice professionals from the fields of Music Theater, voice science, voice medicine, literature, language, and much more.

If you have suggestions for state workshops, meetings, ways to improve what we do, or would like to find out how you can get involved in chapter activities, please contact a current board member for more information.
